1. Brief introduction of the results
The boric acid ester initiator is used for the gelation reaction of PMMA/MMA adhesives. This type of adhesive can be used to bond most substrates such as ceramics, plastics, metals, enamel, etc., and is used as dental filling materials, adhesives and bone cements in orthopedics or dentistry. The boric acid ester initiator is prepared by partial oxidation of tributyl boron. This result obtains a mixture product with different monoboric acid ester/diboric acid ester ratios by preparing a weak oxidant, controlling the oxidant content and reaction conditions. By controlling the monoboric acid ester/diboric acid ester ratio in the product, the gelation speed of the adhesive can be controlled, and the bonding system can be controlled at a suitable gelation time. This initiator is the most difficult component to synthesize among the major raw materials of dental adhesives and bone cements, and has high economic value. Internationally, only Japan and the United States have mastered its synthesis process. After difficult research, the team has broken through the key laboratory synthesis technology and filled the domestic gap.
This technology has the advantages of mild and controllable reaction, and the gelation reaction time of PMMA/MMA adhesive can be controlled by controlling the addition ratio. The purity of the monoborate/diborate of this product is better than 98.5%, which is higher than similar foreign products (95.6%), and the technology is leading the international level.
2. Application field
As a pharmaceutical intermediate, this achievement can be used to bond most substrates such as ceramics, plastics, metals, and enamel, and used as dental filling materials, adhesives and bone cement in orthopedics or dentistry.
3. Application prospects
The market unit price of this product exceeds 1,000 yuan/g. Compared with existing light-curing resins, this resin does not require UV light source irradiation and the curing time is controllable. PMMA/MMA adhesives can be used as bone cement and have great application potential in orthopedic surgery.
4. Intellectual property rights
One invention patent has been applied for, which is held by the achievement unit alone.
